Dyna-Flo DFC, DFO, DFN and DFR spring and diaphragm actuators

Pneumatic spring and diaphragm actuators for sliding stem (DFC, DFO, DFN) and rotary (DFR) control valves, fail-open or fail-closed, travel to 4", for −40 °C to +82 °C.

Spring and diaphragm actuators are the simplest way to move a control valve: instrument air on one side of a diaphragm, a spring on the other, so the valve goes to a defined position when the air fails. DFC actuators push the stem down (fail closed on a push-down-to-close valve), DFO pull it up (fail open), DFN is the high thrust version for larger valves, and DFR is the rotary counterpart for the 570 series.

They accept the standard 3–15 psi signal or a positioner output, and are supplied with handwheels, limit switches and positioners as required.

Selection data we need

Medium and its properties, inlet and outlet pressure, flow rate at minimum, normal and maximum conditions, temperature, allowable noise level, required shutoff class, pipe size and rating, actuator air supply and control signal, and any fail position. We size the valve and actuator in Dyna-Flo’s FloSpec software.

Applications

  • Dyna-Flo sliding stem valves 320 to 390 and DF2000
  • Dyna-Flo 570 and 570S rotary valves
  • Retrofit of existing control valves
