Jerguson 360 Series safety ballcheck valve with bypass mode

Quarter turn metal seated gage valve with an internal ballcheck and a bypass position that prevents false level readings during commissioning, low emission to API 641 and ISO 15848-1, Class V shut-off, up to 2220 psi (153 barg).

With a traditional ballcheck valve, a gage assembly on a vessel that already holds liquid is easy to commission wrongly: the operator opens the valve too fast, the ball seats, and the gage shows a false level. The 360 Series removes that risk with a bypass position.

To commission, the top valve is set to bypass, then the bottom valve. Liquid flows into the glass without seating the ball. When the level stops rising both valves go to run, and from then on the ballcheck isolates the gage if the glass or a gasket fails. The quarter turn handle and the coloured ring show the valve status at a glance, and a locking pin holds the position.

The ballcheck sits inside a metal seated valve with Class V shut-off, certified for low emissions to API 641 and ISO 15848-1. A clean-out port allows quick inspection or flushing.

Selection data we need

Set or single top/bottom valve, union or non-union gage connection, process connection type and size (with flange class), vent/drain and clean-out size, body and trim material, design pressure and temperature, medium, and whether the gage is insulated (extended stem).

Applications

  • Glass level gage assemblies commissioned on vessels already holding liquid
  • Low emission services under API 641 / ISO 15848-1
  • Sour and refinery service (NACE MR0103 / MR0175)
  • Insulated gages (extended stem)
