GOETZE 455 stainless steel flanged safety valve

Full-lift angle safety valve in stainless steel 1.4408 with DIN PN40 flanges, DN 15 to DN 100, 0.2 to 40 bar, −270 °C to +400 °C, single trim for gases, vapours and liquids; 455 ANSI version with Class 150 flanges.

The 455 is GOETZE’s flanged stainless steel safety valve for process and steam duty: a full-lift angle valve in cast 1.4408 with one trim for gases, vapours and liquids, DN 15 to DN 100 and set pressures from 0.2 to 40 bar. The seat is replaceable, the disc-to-spindle connection rotates freely and the cone-stroke ring detaches easily, so the valve is built for maintenance in the plant.

Four bonnet versions cover the range of media: an open bonnet for neutral gases, a bellows version that compensates back pressure up to 30 % of the set pressure, a gastight bonnet for non-neutral media, and the double gastight bellows version for flammable, toxic or environmentally hazardous media. Seals go from metal-to-metal for steam up to 400 °C to elastomers and PTFE; option P13 extends the range down to −270 °C for cryogenic gases.

The 455 ANSI is the same valve with moulded ASME B16.5 Class 150 flanges, NPS 3/4” to 4”, up to 20 bar. The 455bHL is the hot water version with EPDM bellows for heating and district heating systems to 120 °C under TRD 721 and EN 12828.

Selection data we need

Medium and state, set pressure, required discharge capacity, operating pressure and temperature, back pressure, inlet and outlet size, flange standard (DIN or ANSI), seal material and bonnet version (open, bellows, gastight). For a replacement, the type code and nameplate data are enough.

Applications

  • Chemical and petrochemical plants
  • Steam plants and industrial boilers
  • Industrial gas production, hydrogen, cryogenic service
  • Biogas plants, shipbuilding, food and pharma utilities
