Ritec partnerFarris 2600 series pressure relief valve
Spring-loaded full-nozzle pressure relief valve for process service, ASME Section VIII and PED, API 526 orifices D to T plus super capacity to Z, 1x2" to 20x24", 15 to 6000 psig, conventional or BalanSeal bellows.
The 2600 is the Farris process relief valve, made since the 1940s and still the reference design in many plant specifications. Its full nozzle is threaded into the inlet flange low in the body, so piping strains do not reach the seat, and a double ball joint guiding keeps the disc aligned. Spring chamber and body are isolated, which protects the spring in hot, corrosive and dirty service.
Conventional valves cover the bulk of applications; the BalanSeal bellows version keeps set pressure and capacity stable under variable back pressure and can be retrofitted on F to T orifices by adding the bellows. The 2600L is the Code-certified liquid version, the 2600S has an exposed spring for high temperature. Super capacity U to Z orifices extend the range to 20x24” for large gas and fire cases.
An O-ring seat gives bubble-tight closure close to set pressure, and the inSure monitor can be fitted to record every lift.
Selection data we need
Medium and state, set pressure, required capacity or the governing relief scenario, operating pressure and temperature, back pressure, inlet and outlet size and rating, material and certificates. For a replacement, the nameplate data is enough. We size and select in Farris SizeMaster.
Applications
- Process vessels, columns and reactors
- Heat exchangers and pump discharge
- Gas, vapour, steam and liquid service
- Relief into headers with variable back pressure (bellows)
