Scored forward acting disk with an 85 % operating ratio, 2.1 to 124 bar in DN25 to DN600, non-fragmenting and vacuum resistant without a support. Suitable for safety valve isolation.
The XN85 is what a forward acting disk becomes when the opening pattern is scored into the dome. The scoring controls where and how the metal tears, so the disk opens as attached petals rather than fragments, and the design tolerates vacuum without a separate support. The operating ratio rises to 85 %, well above the 70 % of a plain Type B.
The XN85 is chosen where a forward acting disk is preferred for pressure or medium reasons but the application still demands non-fragmentation, for example under a safety relief valve or in a liquid-full system. It mounts in the NF-7RS and NFI-7RS pre-torqued heads.
