Ritec partnerBS&B SKr reverse buckling disk
Scored reverse buckling disk with a 90 % operating ratio and burst pressures from 0.6 to 34.5 bar, non-fragmenting, for gas, vapour and liquid service. The all-round Sta-Saf disk.
The SKr is the disk we quote most often. Its dome faces the process so the metal is in compression; when the burst pressure is reached the dome reverses and opens along pre-scored lines into a hinged petal that stays attached to the disk. There is nothing to fragment and nothing to travel downstream, which is exactly what you want when the disk sits under a safety relief valve or ahead of a flare header.
Compared with a forward-acting disk of the same rating, the SKr can run at a higher percentage of its burst pressure, needs no vacuum support down to full vacuum, and lasts far longer under cycling. Its very wide burst pressure range, from a few hundred millibar up to 34.5 bar, and the availability of aluminium as a standard material make it the default answer for most process duties.

Selection data we need
Size, burst pressure and temperature, operating pressure, medium, presence of vacuum or back pressure, flange standard and rating. For a replacement disk, photograph the tag: the lot number tells us everything.
