BS&B SKi reverse buckling disk

The first back-pressure independent reverse buckling disk: variable back pressure up to 2 bar has no effect on the burst pressure. DN25 to DN250, 3.45 to 34.5 bar, 90 % operating ratio, non-fragmenting.

Rupture disks respond to differential pressure. A conventional disk installed on a header with variable back pressure therefore bursts at a pressure that shifts with whatever is happening downstream, and the only remedy used to be a second disk or a complicated analysis. The SKi is the first reverse buckling disk designed to be back-pressure independent: two rupture elements work together so that a variable back pressure between 0 and 2 bar has no influence on the burst pressure, and it still opens cleanly when the differential is reached.

Beyond that, the SKi packs the performance of the Sta-Saf family into the sizes where reverse buckling disks were traditionally hard to make consistent. Its patented opening geometry gives a clean, predictable burst at pressures from 3.45 bar upwards without any risk of fragmentation.

Like the rest of the Sta-Saf range it runs at up to 90 % of the marked burst pressure, resists full vacuum and has the best fatigue life in the BS&B programme. It is the natural choice for small vessels, pump protection and packaged equipment, and it fits the same pre-torqued SRI-7RS and SRB-7RS safety heads as the SKr so an installed base can be mixed without changing holders.
