Ritec partnerBS&B LPS low pressure reverse buckling disk
Reverse buckling disk for low burst pressures from 0.3 to 4.8 bar, DN25 to DN300, 90 % operating ratio and full vacuum resistance without a support.
Low burst pressures are where conventional forward-acting disks struggle: the metal has to be thin, the disk becomes fragile and a vacuum support is almost always needed. The LPS solves this with the reverse buckling principle. Even at 300 mbar the disk is a robust dome in compression, it resists full vacuum on its own, and it can operate at 90 % of its burst pressure.
Opening is clean and non-fragmenting, so the LPS can be used to protect low-pressure equipment directly or to isolate a safety valve or breather valve from a corrosive or polymerising medium. For sizes below DN25 see the LPS-U, which uses the UR-2 union holder.
Selection data we need
Size, burst pressure and temperature, operating pressure, whether the equipment sees vacuum, medium and flange rating.
Applications
- Low-pressure vessels, tanks and dryers
- Glass-lined and thin-walled equipment
- Vent and blow-down lines
- Vacuum service with occasional overpressure
