Ritec partnerJerguson JMT, MTII 4300 and RST2 level transmitters for Magnicator
4-20 mA transmitters that clamp to the Magnicator chamber without process contact: JMT magnetostrictive with HART and waveform display up to 360" (9 m), MTII 4300 magnetostrictive with HART 7 and SIL2, and RST2 reed chain with 1/2" resolution.
A Magnicator shows the level locally; a transmitter mounted on the outside of its chamber sends the same level to the control system. The strong, focused field of the Magnicator float drives the transmitter reliably, even through heavy wall chambers up to Sch 160. None of the transmitters touches the process, so they can be fitted while the vessel stays in service.
The JMT is the newest magnetostrictive transmitter. A low-power pulse runs down a sensing wire, and where the float’s field crosses the wire a torsional return pulse comes back; its time of flight gives the float position. Jerguson’s signal capture technology gives a high signal-to-noise ratio. The dual compartment housing has an HMI at the front, with current level, settings and a live waveform graph, and the power terminals at the back. With two floats the JMT measures total and interface level, and it can also be inserted directly into a storage tank.
The MTII 4300 is the proven magnetostrictive alternative with HART 7 and SIL2. The RST2 is a simpler 4-20 mA transmitter: a chain of reed switches and resistors in a stainless steel tube gives a resistance proportional to the float position, with 1/2 inch resolution.
