KITO EFA-Def0 in-line deflagration flame arrester

In-line deflagration flame arrester for explosion groups IIA1 to IIC in DN25 to DN400, short-time burning proof, for pipe runs close to the protected equipment.

The EFA-Def0 is an in-line deflagration arrester for pipework where the distance to a possible ignition source is short enough that a flame cannot accelerate to a detonation. Its symmetrical housing with a replaceable element block protects in both flow directions and is rated for short-time burning.

With the higher pressure ratings up to 6 bar abs it also suits pressurised process systems, and a heating sleeve keeps condensing or freezing vapours from blocking the element.

Selection data we need

Medium and explosion group (or MESG), nominal size and connection standard, operating pressure and temperature, flow rate, material and required accessories (temperature sensor, heating sleeve).

Applications

  • Short vent and vapour lines between tank and header
  • Protection of blowers, pumps and analysers
  • Process piping where run-up to detonation is excluded
