Fast-acting pinch valve for product lines DN80 to DN300: an explosion-protected industrial pinch valve that closes on a detector signal to stop deflagration propagation, with a full bore in normal operation.
A pinch valve has no moving metal parts in the product stream: a flexible sleeve is squeezed shut by pressure applied around it. That makes it ideal for isolating lines that carry powders and granules, where a slide gate would wear or jam. The Type IVE takes this proven industrial valve and rates it for explosion isolation duty.
In normal operation the sleeve gives a full, smooth bore with no pressure loss and no place for product to build up. On a signal from the explosion detection the valve closes fast enough to stop a deflagration propagating along the line. It is used between mills, sifters, mixers and silos as part of a Type IPD protection concept.

Line size, product and conveying conditions, temperature, dust explosion data (Kst, Pmax), the protected vessels on both sides, and compressed air availability.
