GOETZE 642 gunmetal diaphragm safety valve, threaded or flanged

Gunmetal angle safety valve with diaphragm and stainless steel wetted parts, 1/2" to 2 1/2" female BSP or PN16 flanged inlet from DN 25, 0.5 to 16 bar, −50 °C to +205 °C, one version for gases, vapours, steam and liquids, ASME UV, ACS and WRAS approved.

The 642 is GOETZE’s diaphragm safety valve in gunmetal for water, air, gases and steam up to 16 bar. The moulded diaphragm separates the medium from the spring housing, so one version serves both gaseous and liquid media, and the wetted internals are stainless steel 1.4404 while the body stays in CC499K. It runs from 1/2” to 2 1/2”, the largest threaded size in the family, with a PN16 flanged inlet available from DN 25.

Beyond PED and TÜV type test 2102 it carries ASME UV, CRN and KGS, and the ACS, WRAS and DVGW hygiene listings for drinking water, which makes it a common choice on booster sets and water treatment skids. Seal and diaphragm pairs from PTFE/EPDM to FKM/FKM give −50 °C to +205 °C.

Selection data we need

Medium and state, set pressure, required discharge capacity, operating pressure and temperature, size and connection (threaded or flanged inlet), seal and diaphragm material and whether a lifting lever is required. For a replacement, the type code and nameplate data are enough.

Applications

  • Pressure vessels and systems for gases, vapours and liquids
  • Steam and industrial boiler plants
  • Pressure booster systems and pump protection
  • Cooling and chilling systems, mechanical engineering
