BS&B safety heads (rupture disk holders)

A rupture disk only performs as certified when it is held correctly. The safety head clamps the disk with the right seating load, orients it in the flow and, in the insert designs, locates inside the bolt circle of the companion flanges so no special flanges are needed. BS&B offers three constructions.

Pre-torqued insert heads (the -7RS series) are shipped with the disk already installed and torqued in the factory. Site work is reduced to bolting the head between the flanges, which removes the most common installation errors. The compact SRI-7RS and the standard SRB-7RS cover the Sta-Saf disks; the CSR-7RS / CSI-7RS serve the Sure-Saf CSI; EC-7RS, HL-7RS and NF-7RS / NFI-7RS serve the Eco-Saf, Vac-Saf and scored forward acting disks.

Pre-assembled insert heads (the -7R series) are supplied assembled but are torqued on site. Variants add functions: the SPR-7R has an extended outlet that contains the disk petal, the SR-7R is prepared for Burst Alert magnetic sensors, and the S90-7R handles the large S-90 disks. RB-7R, HL-7R, KB-7R and VB-7R belong to the RB-90 and Vac-Saf disks.

The SRB-7FS is a full-bolted design for applications that prefer a self-contained flanged unit, the FA-7R Quick-Sert carries the forward acting Type B and D, and the UR-2 threaded union holds the ½” and 1” SKR-U, LPS-U and RLS-U disks. Sanitary clamp holders complete the range for hygienic installations.
