Ritec partnerBS&B Bio-Saf sanitary reverse buckling disks
Sanitary reverse buckling disks with 90 % operating ratio for tri-clamp installation: GCR series, GFR-S, SLP-S, GLR-S and GLP-S, DN25 to DN100, 0.3 to 24 bar. Welded GCR-SW and GFR-SW assemblies.
Bio-Saf brings the full reverse buckling advantage to hygienic processes: a 90 % operating ratio, full vacuum resistance without a support and long life under the pressure cycling of CIP and SIP. Every disk is non-fragmenting and can be installed under a sanitary safety valve.
| Model | Sizes | Burst range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| GCR series | DN40 – DN100 | 0.7 – 20.7 bar | Gasketed disk in the GR-C ferrule; variants with sensor (‑S), Monel dome (‑M), EPDM (‑E) or no outlet ferrule |
| GCR-SW | DN40 – DN100 | 0.7 – 20.7 bar | Single-piece assembly, disk welded between two clamp ferrules |
| GFR-S | DN25 – DN80 | 0.8 – 21 bar | Disk in GR-C holder for smaller lines |
| GFR-SW | DN25 – DN80 | 0.8 – 21 bar | Welded single-piece version of the GFR-S |
| SLP-S | DN40 – DN80 | 0.3 – 4.8 bar | Low pressure sanitary reverse buckling disk |
| GLR-S | DN40 | 12 – 24 bar | High pressure, single size |
| GLP-S | DN25 – DN80 | 0.5 – 21 bar | Uses the LP-C holder |
The welded -SW assemblies are a favourite for validated processes: the disk cannot be handled, dropped or mounted upside down, and the whole unit is swapped at each change-out. Gasket materials are chosen for the medium and the cleaning regime.
Selection data we need
Ferrule size and standard, burst pressure and temperature, operating pressure, SIP temperature and cycle count, medium, gasket preference, and whether a burst sensor is required.
Applications
- Bioreactors, fermenters and CIP/SIP vessels
- Pharmaceutical and biotech process lines
- Food, dairy and beverage equipment
- Isolation of sanitary safety valves
