GLAUNACH LH₂ silencer for liquid hydrogen
Silencer developed for liquid hydrogen: designed for material behaviour at cryogenic temperatures and the large volume expansion of LH₂, to PED, ASME or NASA recommendations as required.
Liquid hydrogen expands several hundred times when it flashes to gas, at temperatures around minus 253 °C. GLAUNACH’s LH₂ silencer is designed around that: material selection for cryogenic service, and a geometry that handles the volume expansion. Project-specific standards such as PED, ASME or NASA recommendations are taken into account in design and manufacturing.
Selection data we need
Hydrogen state (gaseous or liquid), mass flow, inlet pressure and temperature, allowable back pressure, inlet size, required noise level, discharge direction and hazardous-area requirements, design code (PED, ASME), quantity.
Applications
- Liquid hydrogen storage and transfer
- Cryogenic hydrogen systems
- LH₂ vent and relief lines
