Reliance LevelMax two instrument drum level assembly

Compact boiler drum level assembly on one set of connections: an Eye-Hye SmartLevel remote indicator plus a Simpliport 180 or flat glass gage with DuraStar illumination for local confirmation, for economical ASME Code compliance.

The LevelMax puts a remote and a local level instrument on one compact assembly. An Eye-Hye SmartLevel probe system gives a bright remote indicator for the control area, and a Simpliport 180 or a flat glass gage with DuraStar illumination gives local confirmation of the water level.

Because both instruments attach to one set of connections, part of the field piping and welding needed for independent instruments disappears, which lowers installation cost and space. Thousands of two-instrument LevelMax assemblies are in service.

Reliance recommends planning for more than the code minimum number of level instruments. The ASME code requires two independent remote level indicators in the control area when the gage glass is not visible to the operator; with one or more LevelMax assemblies an instrument can be isolated for maintenance while the boiler still meets that minimum. For three or four instruments, see LevelMax Optima.

Selection data we need

Drum design pressure and temperature, connection centres and type, choice of gage glass (Simpliport 180 or flat glass with DuraStar), SmartLevel probe count and outputs, orientation of the instruments around the drum, area classification and supply voltage.

Applications

  • Power boiler drums designed to ASME requirements
  • One assembly at either end of the drum
  • Projects that want fewer field welds and less field piping
