Jerguson · Level Gages
Jerguson weld pad level gages: Series W20, W300L and RW400
Level gages welded directly to the tank for economical indication on non-critical applications: W20 and W300L reflex or transparent, standard or isolable with integral valves, and RW400 reflex to 400 psi (27.5 barg) at 400 °F.
Weld pad gages are welded straight onto the tank, which makes them an economical level indication for non-critical applications such as seal pots. With a standard weld pad the tank must be depressurised and drained before the gage can be serviced, so they are not used on critical process equipment.
The isolable version of the W20 and W300L adds integral valves. The valve inlets match holes drilled in the vessel and are fully fillet welded, while the chamber is tack welded. Glass and gaskets can then be replaced without lowering the level below the gage inlet or relieving pressure.
The RW400 is a low pressure reflex-only pad for up to 400 psi at 400 °F. Its 2-hole design lets the liquid flow freely through the gage, reinforces the weld to the vessel and only needs two drilled holes instead of a machined slot. Pads can be machined to the vessel radius.
Selection data we need
Series (W20, W300L or RW400), reflex or transparent, glass size and number of sections, standard or isolable, material, gasket, vessel outside diameter or pad radius (or flat back), design pressure and temperature, and whether a scale is needed. The user checks acceptability for ASME Section VIII.
Applications
- Seal pots
- Tanks and vessels where the gage can be serviced at shutdown
- Isolable version where the gage must be serviced without draining the vessel
