Jerguson Series 51 high pressure ported level gage, to 10,000 psi

Transparent ported level gage with O-ring sealed ports for very high pressure liquid service: 6000 psi (413.7 barg) with NPT, 10,000 psi (689.5 barg) with socket weld or high pressure fittings, up to 400 °F.

The Series 51 is built for very high pressures while keeping a good view of the level. Its one-piece chamber is machined from solid carbon or stainless bar stock and drilled at each port, which leaves tie-bars in between to resist deflection.

Every port is sealed by its own Viton O-ring in a recessed circular channel, so the glass only sees pressure over half-inch circles. The ports are drilled at an angle and drain positively, which prevents false readings from liquid hang-up. Studs are threaded through the chamber so the glass on each side can be changed separately.

With NPT connections the gage is rated 6000 psi, with socket weld or high pressure fittings 10,000 psi, both at 400 °F. It is not recommended for steam. The matching gage valve is the Jerguson Series 86.

Selection data we need

Maximum working pressure and temperature, medium, visible range or centre-to-centre distance, chamber material, connection type (NPT, flanged, socket weld or HP fitting) and whether gage valves are needed. For spare glass, state “H.P.” and the gage size.

Applications

  • Very high pressure liquid service, injection and hydraulic systems
  • Pairs with Jerguson Series 86 valves
  • Not recommended for steam
